For a 200 unit residence building, using 200 families each with both adults working will house 400 workers. Assuming an average worker density of 10 square meters per worker, this amounts to 4000 square meters or about four floors of the building. Thus, the 200 residential units occupy the upper 20 floors and an additional 4 floors dedicated to the offices for a total of 24 floors. This is well within the limits of construction. The savings to workers in terms of commuting or driving to work is at least 1 hour one-way or 2 hours total per day in today’s traffic conditions. Gasoline cost savings are roughly 15,000 gallons a year computed with a 5 kilometer residential distance for the 200 families.</p>
<p>Considering also, that lunches can be taken at home, a mere elevator ride away, can cause a lot of savings in food costs. The housing costs can be an employee privilege as long as one family member is employed in the company.
